Exercise

Just jogged 8 minutes with my dog. Leg very painful, I am sure it isnt supposed to hurt this much, will mention to physio when I see her next.  Hips very stiff too but forced myself to do it.
I jogged the 8 mins down the road to the roundabout and a brisk walk back home.

I say brisk walk but that also includes several 'detours' to peoples gates, bus stops etc for him to have a wee.

So far so good, I have the Jillian Michaels dvd to do later and am hoping my back loosens up my then beacsue it is protesting at the moment.

Day one - Breakfast

Green tea, Breakfast sake and 2 scambled eggs
Followed by:  15mg Meloxicam, Folic Acid, 10mg Prednisalone and a Lansaprazole.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised at ow nice the green tea with honey tasted and will look forward to that every morning.  I couldnt find the high protein cereal stated in the plan so visited my local health food shop yesterday and bought a big tub of SCI MX Breakfast shake (wouldnt call it a shake as it was as thick as glue when I made it up).  It tasted fab but couldnt manage to eat it all as it was so heavy.
The eggs were Asda Organic Free range and for someone who doesnt usually eat eggs I was pleasantly surprised, very nice!

It is 10.30am an am surpirsed I havent yet craved a cup of tea or coffee.

Introduction

Well, I have finally taken the step to create a blog!!  woohoo

I am using this blog as a motivational tool for myself and maybe other people who may suffer with Arthritis like I do and want to get themselves fit -my goal is to get super toned and ripped.  I am prepared to suffer in order to regain the body I once had.

I was diagnosed with an inflammatory arthritis approximately 18 months ago called Spondyloarthritis. It took a long time for diagnosis as I began having problems several years ago but my GP just told me I was doing too much sport and to rest. Anyone with this type of arthritis knows that rest is not recommended and the joint shsould be kept moving in roder for them not to fuse.  The difficult thing is knowing what is too much and too little exercise as just a small amount of too much exercise can leave you cripppled witn pain and fatigue for days.

FYI
'''Inflammatory arthritis is the term used to describe a range of conditions, including rheumatoid
arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). These are
autoimmune diseases, in which the body’s immune system attacks the joints and causes them
to become inflamed. Inflammatory arthritis can affect almost any joint: often the hands and feet,
and also knees, shoulders, elbows, hips, the neck and other joints. It can also affect other parts
of the body.
It is not known exactly what causes a person to develop inflammatory arthritis. Various factors
may be relevant, including the environment, infection, trauma and a person’s genetic make-up.
[1]
There are other risk factors that increase the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis, such as
smoking,
[2] obesity and prior blood transfusion.[3]
Around 387,000 adults in the UK have rheumatoid arthritis, the most common form of
inflammatory arthritis. It affects around three times as many women as men.
approximately 200,000 people in the UK who have ankylosing spondylitis.
estimates vary, between 84,000 and 177,000.''

I was a competitive kickboxer up until about 16 months when the arthritis beat me and I was forced to stop training, this left me very depressed and worthless. The training involved began leaving me with so much fatigue i couldnt do anything at all following even the easiest of sessions.  I also use to enjoy running and entrered severeal 10ks, half marathons, 5ks etc.  I just loved to exercise and keep fit.
Again, following even the easiest of runs I began to not be able to even get out of bed or stand up straght in the mornings as my back and joints would cease up.

I had surgery on my left knee last year which is slowly ehaling but still hasnt healed in the 9 months since.  More than likely due to heavy medication I take for the arthritis, I am told!   I have been told I need surgery on both my ankes and am waiting to see if both are being done at the same time or seperately.

Even though I have this going on I have decided to get myself fit again.  It has been over a year since I did any proper exercise and feel the time is right to shift the 2 stone and 2 dresses sizes I have put on and get myself i shape.  It is going to be a difficult process as  I am sure good old 'Arthur' (arthritis) will come and visit most days and try and drag me down, but I am so determined now that I will not let it however difficult it proves to be.

I took pictures this morning of my front side and back, I may have the courage to post one day but for the time being they are staying on my hard drive!!!!!!!!!

I have decieded to do the Jillian Michaels 30 day plan.  It is quite intense and the diet is also quite strict.  I know already I am going to hurt but the way I feel and the habits I am slipping into are just as painful.
